Becoming a professional teacher isn’t just about having a job and being compensated. There is a deeper meaning beyond the word teacher and that is being able to do more than teach, that the impact as a teacher extends far beyond the classroom. It is becoming a mentor, a confidant, a second parent and a friend. It is making difference in your students’ lives.

To become an effective teacher, you must have the sense of motivation in teaching that’s why you need to give yourself and the best of what you can to become a good and effective teacher. Also, you must know how to form strong relationships with students by being a warm, accessible, enthusiastic and caring one. Building rapport is important because it is a way to relate to each other and to create a level of trust and understanding. It is also essential to accept and process suggestions that will help students to feel comfortable and relaxed-open to share ideas and to have an open communication. Moreover, by establishing a good two-way communication between parents and teachers for it is necessary for the students’ success. Parent conferences, parent-teacher organizations, personal home visits, parent newsletters, and other parenting sessions may be helpful. In addition, a good teacher must know how to create different teaching strategies such that students must be active in every teaching and learning process. Motivated students are more excited to learn and participate. To make it so, one would probably use strategic ways to set their mood before starting the discussion such as educational games, jingles, or energizers. Teaching a class full of motivated students is enjoyable for the teacher and student alike.

A teacher’s mission in this profession is to design, implement, and assess learning experiences to engage students and improve learning, enrich professional practice and provide positive models for students, colleagues and the community. Being a teacher must have the sense of excitement and personal fulfilment and the desire to impart a love of learning to her students to encourage them to always strive for learning.
